For those who are just getting into ceramic jewellery, they soon find that they become very passionate about it. This is because they learn that there are different types of jewellery which means they have plenty of pieces to choose from.
Ceramic Rings
Usually, when people think about rings, they think about traditional types like gold and silver and those with diamonds. Ceramic rings are growing fast in popularity. There is a big difference when it comes to ceramic rings and other forms that ceramics are used in. Ceramic rings are normally made from titanium carbide. They can be buffed to a great shine which helps to make them appealing. The benefit of this type of ring is that it is tough, so does not lose its shape easily and it is scratch resistant.
Ceramic Pendants
The more common type of handcrafted jewellery when it comes to ceramics is the necklaces and the pendants. These can be made with different types of ceramic clays. They all have to be shaped, which can be done by hand or with a mould. Different mediums can be inserted into the clay before it is fired. However, some may have to be inset then glued into place.
Most find it much easier to use moulds for this. Even so, there are a lot of steps to go through to make the finished piece. A standard mould can be used then the pieces can be made unique with the different embellishments that are going to be used.
Ceramic Earrings
For those who are just getting into handcrafting ceramic jewellery, they will often start off with making earrings. These are smaller pieces, so they are easier for the beginner to handle.
